How small batch sizes can save democracy
Spoiler alert: This is NOT a political post. 🇺🇸
It's a lesson on "large batch sizes"
In Lean, large batch sizes, that is, taking on large amounts of work instead of breaking work down into smaller units or steps, is one of the primary causes of waste, defects, and quality issues.
Plainly said, if you take on too much work, you won't get the results you expect.
Guess what? It works for policy too! I know, I've helped coach government policy offices realize they were trying to solve too much at once, causing delays, rework, and unintended consequences.
So regardless where you stand politically, if you want the least amount of waste and the greatest impact (quality) from your representatives, encourage them to think lean!
